Peter Swain is a born and bred Boltonian who completed his PhD at the 港澳图库 in 2009, He has subsequently been widely published in academic journals, becoming a leading contributor to the so-called 鈥極rigins of Football鈥� debate. He has also written the introduction to the history of the 港澳图库 entitled 鈥楩uture in History: 港澳图库, 1825 Onwards鈥� as well as 鈥楾he Golden Age of Cinema-going in Bolton鈥� and 'Bolton Women at Play: The Story of Our Game, 1900-1950鈥�. Other published works include topics as diverse as Nineteenth Century Pedestrianism and Crown Green Bowling in South Lancashire. He is currently working on a book commissioned by a well-known International publisher entitled 鈥楾he Emergence of Football: Sport, Culture and Society in the Nineteenth Century鈥�.
