Dr Denis Hyams-Ssekasi

Business

I joined the University in April 2015 following 12 years’ experience of delivering Business and Management courses on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the UK Higher Education.
Prior to this, I worked as a senior lecturer, module leader, course-co-ordinator of Management and Leadership programmes at the University of Huddersfield. I hold undergraduate honours and postgraduate qualifications in Human Resource Management, Management, Business Administration, Education and a teaching qualification. I am also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development as well as a Senior Fellow member of the Higher Academy.
I have a proven and sustained record of accomplishment of contribution to students’ learning and development. I have been involved in student research related to flexible working, employee engagement and behaviour in the workplace and have successfully led a number of teaching and learning initiatives including personal development planning, employability and mentoring projects.
My research interests include Strategic Management and Leadership, Entrepreneurship, High-Performance Work Systems, Employee Performance, Internationalisation, Outsourcing, International Transitions, Intercultural communications and social impacts.
